Sprinkler System Zone Additions / Modifications

Whether you have too many, or not enough heads on a zone and need to modify your existing layout, we can help optimize your property for efficiency.

  • Improved Coverage & Healthier Landscapes: A new zone ensures water is applied evenly, eliminating dry spots and overwatered areas.
  • Better Water Pressure & Efficiency: Separating high-demand areas into their own zone allows your system to run more efficiently with proper pressure.

Backflow Preventer Repair & Testing

Backflow Preventer testing in Utah

Backflow preventers are critical devices that protect your drinking water from contamination caused by backflow, which can occur due to changes in water pressure.

Backflow Testing

  • Certified Professionals: Our team includes licensed BPAT (Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester) technicians who are trained and certified to test all types of backflow prevention devices.
  • Thorough Inspection: We conduct a comprehensive test to ensure your backflow preventer is functioning correctly and complies with state and local regulations.
  • Detailed Reporting: After testing, we provide official documentation for your records or to submit to your local water authority.

Backflow Repair / Replacement

Common Residential / Small Commercial Property Backflow Preventers we can replace include:

  • Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB)
The most common residential backflow device. Installed above ground and protects against back-siphonage. Often seen with a bell-shaped top.
  • Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (AVB)
A simple, inexpensive option typically used on very small systems or single zones. Must be installed above all downstream piping and cannot be under constant pressure.
  • Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA / DC)
Used where backflow risk is considered lower. Installed either above or below ground, depending on local code. Common in older systems.
  • Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ / RPP)
Provides the highest level of protection. Required when chemicals, fertilizers, or higher hazard conditions are present. Larger, more complex, and usually tested annually.
  • Anti-Siphon Valve (ASV)
A sprinkler valve with built-in backflow protection. Common on small residential systems with valves installed above ground near the house, but rare to find in Utah.

System Upgrades

MP Rotator in action

Common upgrades include replacing older spray heads with high-efficiency rotator nozzles. Installing taller 6″ spray bodies instead of 4″ ones can help, especially if you have a thick thatch layer in your lawn, for improved clearance and coverage. Upgrading outdated controllers to modern, programmable models with advanced scheduling and water-saving features is also beneficial. One of the most effective upgrades we offer is converting traditional spray zones to drip irrigation, which delivers water directly to plant roots and is perfect for garden beds, shrubs, and narrow landscaped areas.

Our team evaluates your existing system and recommends upgrades that provide the greatest benefit without unnecessary changes—helping you get better performance, improved water efficiency, and long-term reliability from your irrigation system.

Upgrading or overhauling your system offers several benefits:

  • Improved Water Efficiency: Modern systems use advanced technology to deliver water more precisely, reducing waste and saving money.
  • Enhanced Coverage: Ensure every area of your lawn receives the water it needs, even if your landscape has changed.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Replace old or worn-out parts to minimize breakdowns and costly repairs.
  • Environmental Benefits: Conserve water and reduce your environmental impact with eco-friendly features like smart controllers and high-efficiency sprinkler heads.

When Should You Consider an Upgrade or Overhaul?

  • Your system has metal piping or sprinkler heads.
  • Your system is over 10 years old.
  • You notice uneven watering or dry spots.
  • Your water bills are increasing without explanation.
  • Your sprinkler heads or pipes frequently need repairs.
  • Your landscaping has changed, requiring different watering patterns.
